Most pumpkin displays will remain beautiful throughout the fall with a little care and maintenance. To maximize the life of your display:

• Water mums regularly, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. Water at the base of the plant rather than over the flowers whenever possible.

• Keep pumpkins off bare soil or mulch when possible, as direct contact with damp surfaces can speed up deterioration.

• Avoid excessive sun exposure if you have flexibility in placement. Pumpkins generally last longer in cooler, shaded areas.

• Remove any pumpkins that become soft or damaged to help keep the overall display looking fresh.
